Diagnosing Matthew Boldy’s Early Season NCAA Struggles and Revealing the Prescriptive Measures Already Present in his Game

The 2019 United States National Team Development Program U18 squad was a sight to behold last season, running the opposition out of the building with a high-powered offence night after night.

In total, eight NTDP players went in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft, and nearly all of them lived up to their billing immediately.

First overall pick Jack Hughes played in the NHL, while Trevor Zegras, Cole Caufield, and Alex Turcotte made an immediate impact in the NCAA, scoring around a point per game. Spencer Knight lived up to his billing as one of the top goaltenders outside the NHL at Boston College, while Cam York seamlessly slid into a top-pairing role at the University of Michigan.
