EP Rinkside Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 13 Ranked Buffalo Sabres

It’s a testament to the Buffalo Sabres ability to draft and develop talent that they rate in the top half of the league less than a year removed from watching Laurence Pilut, Rasmus Dahlin, and Alexander Nylander either graduate or find new homes.

On the other hand, it’s a testament to the misfortune of the big league club that they’ve been in the position to find players of this calibre routinely through the NHL Draft. The only team with fewer standings points than the Sabres in the last four seasons is the Vegas Golden Knights.

Between Sabres general manager Jason Botterill‘s summer haul and the seeds planted in the draft’s of years prior starting to blossom, there just might be brighter days ahead. Hell, it can’t get any worse.
