LIST: Seven Likely Calder Trophy Candidates For 2020

It’d be a tough job disputing Elias Pettersson’s claim to the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2018-19.

The resume is full. Pettersson had 66 points (28 goals, 38 assists) are the 11th-most for a rookie in the post-lockout era, and he’s the 31st player in NHL history to conclude a season leading all rookies in goals, assists and points.

He’ll receive challenges from Miro Heiskanen of the Dallas Stars, Rasmus Dahlin of the Buffalo Sabres, and St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington, no doubt, but Pettersson is the likely favourite in 2019.

But what about 2020?

The 2019-20 crop of rookies could be an equally impressive one for the National Hockey League with plenty of draft pedigree behind it

It’ll feature a pair of prospects for the 2019 NHL Draft who will learn of their new teams at Rogers A
