VIDEO: EP Rinkside Top 10 Goals of the Week

Greetings, fellow hockey lovers!

With all the great young NHL stars coming through the ranks of junior systems these last few years, you’d expect the flow to slow down at some point. Connor McDavid, Patrik Laine and Auston Matthews are already NHL superstars, even though they just passed 20 years of age.

But judging by the wealth of talent out there, the future of hockey still looks very bright. At EP Rinkside, we love skilled plays and sweet dekes as much as you do. So starting this week, we’ll pick up the 10 prettiest goals from our social media channels and give you our very own Top 10 Goals of the Week.

Make some popcorn and pour a chilled beverage and enjoy a few minutes of fine hockey entertainment from all over the world.

10. Simon Jellus, C/W, Luleå J20, Swedish SuperElit

Some sweet dangles from this 17-year old Slovakian, right?

9. Filip Sjöberg, RW, Timrå J20 (Swedish Junior League)

How was this goal just his fifth of the year?

8. Matthew Maggio, RW, Ottawa 67’s (OHL)

OK, so this kid is 15 and already does this? We imagine we’ll see him again on this list, as he’s not draft eligible until 2021…

7. Dominik Bokk, RW/LW, Växjö Lakers (SHL)

First-round St. Louis Blues pick Bokk lets EVERYONE IN THE ARENA know he’s about to launch a slapper on a sweet pass from Oilers prospect Joel Persson. He still beats the goalie and gets his tenth point of the year in Sweden’s top pro league.

6. Ivan Chekhovich, LW, Baie-Comeau Drakkar (QMJHL)

What could have been a fumble turns into a great deke from this Russian sniper. He could prove to be a steal for San Jose, picked as number 212 in last year’s draft.

5. Ty Dellandrea, C, Flint Firebirds (OHL)

The Stars apparently knew what they were doing when they made Dellandrea their first-round pick in front of their fans in Dallas.

4. Alexander Holtz, RW/LW, Djurgården J20 (Swedish Junior League)

Breakaway? More like a sailaway.

3. Alexander Holtz, RW/LW, Djurgården J20 (Swedish Junior League)

Holtz belongs to the top tier of talent in the 2020 draft and rockets like this is one of the reasons.

2. Adam Boqvist, D, London Knights (OHL)

I guess that timely rush from the blueline is what they call “offensive awareness”.

1. Nikola Pasic, Linköping J20 (Swedish Junior League)

Yep, that’s a spin-o-rama AND a backhand top shelf in one nice move by 2019 eligible Pasic.
